Argyll and Bute Council
Argyll and Bute’s popularity as a filming location is growing all the time. And as this stunning collaboration between ŠKODA and We Love Cycling shows, the results are often spectacular. The council’s Film Office and Roads teams helped filming take place in Inveraray and at The Rest and Be Thankful and surrounding area near Lochgoilhead. We’re proud to have brought this production to Argyll and Bute, and also to have supported the promotion of active travel in our area. Facebook tells me we are forgetting the people who read this page!
We are getting ready for the new season, and today in Kilmartin everyone is out first footing.
First on the off season work list was the renovation of our own living room. Just waiting for the new carpet to be fitted. We are also touching up some rooms.
The other job is to revamp the website, which is a rainy day job so we have no time scale for that, today the weather is bright sunshine.
Wishing you all a great new year.

The on-line travel agencies made up of companies like Expedia, Bookingdotcom, Priceline Group, TripAdvisor, airB&B and increasingly, Ctrip et al, have been trying to corner the market and have done a really good job of selling the idea that they give the best deals.

A new movement , Book Direct, has been set up lead by global players like Hilton, Ritz and Marriott chains as well as many small independent business to explain that booking direct is the cheapest way to book your stay.

At the Old Manse, Kilmartin we tend not to use these agencies, having people booking direct via our website, thus keeping the prices down for our customers and ourselves.
